Although her parents were immigrants, they instilled in her, a strong love for her country and belief in the American Dream.
Despite the fact that Raquel lived a mildly impoverished childhood, all the joy in her life was centered around the closeness of her very large family. Raquel's love and passion for art in fact, was passed down to her by several generations of artists stemming from both sides of the family including her own parents.
